Dear Mr. Ambassador, of Sweden,

I would like to seek your advice in The Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, an international treaty that defines a framework for diplomatic relations between independent countries. It specifies the privileges of a diplomatic mission that enable diplomats to perform their function without fear of coercion or harassment by the host country.

On Friday, 09/06/2013, La Khe Ward Vietnamese police have summoned Nguyen Thu Trang to La Khe Ward Police Station to meet investigators. Police notes: "Unlawful Assembly at the Foreign Embassies."

The Vietnamese La Khe Ward Police state any gathering in a "Foreign Embassies", could be considered by the authorities as an illegal assembly. Even indoors meetings at Embassy premises face the same restrictions.

Generally, embassies are considered as an extension of the home country's territory. As embassies serve as tangible representatives of the home country, they mostly become targets for political opposition in the host country. Embassy premises and its diplomatic staff fall under the sovereignty of the ambassador's home country. The embassy premises and the staff are protected under the concept of diplomatic immunity by the host country.

We urge you to contact Nguyen Thu Trang, we seek for your kind intervention to stop persecution against bloggers who met recently with embassy staffs at the Sweden Embassy in Hanoi.
